Paren Welcomes Gabe Klein and Other Industry Leaders to Our New Advisory Board

As the EV charging industry continues to evolve at high speed, so too does Paren. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve officially launched the Paren Advisory Board — and we’re thrilled to be joined by some of the brightest and most experienced minds in mobility, technology, venture capital, government, and academia.

Leading the Board: Gabe Klein

We’re honored to have Gabe Klein, former Director of the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, serving as the inaugural Chair of our Advisory Board. Gabe brings deep public and private sector experience, and his leadership helped kickstart and steer many of the NEVI program’s early milestones.

“Leading the Paren Advisory Board is a chance to help drive reliability, transparency, and financial sustainability in public charging—powered by a game-changing data platform and a push for industry standardization,” said Klein. “The unified standard that Paren has come up with for charging data across the U.S., both historic and now, real-time, is something that state governments wanted to do and had started to do piecemeal, and Paren picked up the ball and is making it a reality for all governments and all companies going forward,” Klein added.

Joining Gabe: Experts from Google, Lyft, Meta, and Stanford

Alongside Gabe, we’re welcoming two other powerhouse voices in technology, venture capital, entrepreneurship, economics, and academia:

  • Luc Vincent, currently driving AI & Mapping at Nexar as their Chief R&D Officer, founder of Google Street View, venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and former Lyft and Meta executive, will advise Paren on AI strategies and how our platform can align with and serve the broader mapping ecosystem.
  • Garth Saloner, former Dean and current Botha-Chan Professor of Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a pioneer thinker on the “network effect”. He’ll help guide us on how to scale adoption of Paren’s data across CPOs, automakers, rideshare platforms, and other ecosystem partners.

Stay tuned — we’ll be announcing more Advisory Board members soon.

From Startup to Scale: Paren’s Growth Trajectory

Since our founding in March 2024 by ex-Tesla and IBM execs, Paren has grown rapidly into one of the most trusted names in EV charging data. And the momentum isn’t slowing down. Here are a few recent milestones we’re proud of:

  • We’re tracking more charging sessions than ever. In 2025, we expect to track more than 140 million DC fast charging sessions in the U.S.—a 40% year-over-year jump.
  • Our coverage is expanding. We now monitor a large share of Canadian fast-charging infrastructure and recently opened a new office in Quebec.
  • We launched new, industry-first data offerings. Our datasets now include station-level pricing, amenity details, and soon—real-time availability.
  • We’re building smarter tools for drivers and developers. Coming soon: a beta launch of our real-time data API, designed for automakers and navigation apps to leverage our Route Assistant, helping EV drivers find reliable stations that fit their preferences for price, amenities, power, and safety.
  • We’re helping top industry players make smarter decisions. We’re proud to support many of the major charging networks and automakers in using our comprehensive and broad datasets to inform strategic decisions.

What’s Next for Paren?

With new partnerships, a stronger team, and a fast-growing customer base, we’re doubling down on our mission: to bring transparency, intelligence, and efficiency to the fast-evolving world of public EV charging.

We’re grateful to our new Advisory Board members for their belief in our mission and look forward to what we’ll build together.
